Permissions

AR features need access to your camera and motion sensors. We'll request them now.

  • Camera — shows the real world behind overlays
  • Compass — knows which direction you're casting
  • Gyroscope — tracks phone angle for fish-size comparison

We never record or upload video. All AR processing happens in your browser.

3
Calibration

For accurate compass readings on the water:

  • Hold phone flat — screen parallel to the water for a moment
  • Figure-8 motion — move phone in a figure-8 to calibrate compass (iOS/Android auto-detect this)
  • Away from metal — compass is unreliable near engines, rod holders, and downriggers
  • Verify direction — check the compass reads correctly against a known landmark before relying on it
Tip: If your compass seems off on the boat, open your phone's built-in Maps app for 10 seconds — its calibration UI warms the sensor up faster.

Launch AR

Each AR tool can be launched directly from the main menu. This setup guide is saved — you won't have to repeat it.
