Food Chain Intelligence for Anglers

Welcome to Fish Translator

Fish Translator reads the entire food chain to tell you what the fish are eating right now. Weather pushes bugs. Bugs feed fish. Fish tell you what bait to throw.

Conditions drive everything

Read the Water

Fish behavior is driven by environmental conditions. Understanding these factors is the key to predicting what fish are doing right now:

🌡️
Water Temperature
Each species has a preferred range. Bass thrive at 65-80F, trout at 50-65F.
📊
Barometric Pressure
Falling pressure triggers feeding frenzies. Rising pressure = fish go deep.
🌙
Solunar Activity
Major and minor feeding periods align with moon position. Plan trips around these.
🌧️
Weather Patterns
Cloud cover, wind, and precipitation all affect insect hatches and fish position.
💧
Water Clarity
Clear water = finesse. Stained water = bright colors, rattles, vibration.
🕐
Time of Day
Dawn and dusk are prime. Midday shifts to deeper structure or shaded areas.

The food chain in action

Match the Hatch

This is the core concept of Fish Translator. Everything connects through the food chain:

☀️
Weather

Your Bait

How it works: Weather conditions (temperature, pressure, cloud cover) trigger insect emergences. Specific bug species hatch at specific times. Fish key in on whatever is most available. Fish Translator reads all of this and tells you exactly what to throw.

For example: An overcast 55F afternoon in April means Blue-Winged Olives are hatching. Trout will be feeding near the surface. Throw a Parachute Adams #18 or a small olive soft plastic.
